Request for Student-Led Workshops

Theme: “Fierce Expression Through Technology”

Who: All 9-12^th grade students who are currently enrolled in a Boston Public High School

What: To complete the enclosed application for a workshop that will be presented at the 2008 Youth Leadership Conference. The workshop can be a demonstration of creative ways of expressing yourself through technology.

When: Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Boston Convention Center (8:30am-3pm)

Some examples of possible workshop topics include:

• Designing Websites w/ Dreamweaver or Flash
• Creating a poetry anthology w/ Microsoft Word or Publisher
• Demonstrating how to program a robot
• Demonstrating a variety of ways to do graphic design.
• Creating a logo for a real customer

Additional topics could be: programming, web design, audio/video production, music, film-making, photography, spoken word, animation, blogging, engineering, etc…

All workshops must be facilitated by students.

The application must be sent to Abayer@ccebos.org by Friday, February 29^th
