Students are at the core of TechBoston's mission. We are committed to creating opportunities for Boston Public School students to learn and apply advanced technology skills. Here, you will find descriptions of TechBoston courses and the schools in which they are offered. Additionally, TechBoston and our partners offer exciting opportunities such as after-school programs, job placements and scholarships.
Instructors will teach digital photography, Photoshop, and web design to youth from Boston. The summer camp is in Duxbury, where you would live and teach. You would team teach digital photography, Photoshop, and web development with 2 WiredWoods veterans. You receive $315/week, and your room and board are free. The camp goes from June 17-Aug 19. For more information contact: lradden_wiredwoods@msn.com Engineering, science and technology are used extensively in sports - from increasing athletic performance, to manufacturing, health benefits and enjoyment, preventing injury and assuring equity and longevity in sports. This is a FREE one-week academic summer program for girls entering grades 9 and 10. activities introduce young women to the basic physical and life sciences, math, and technology of sports. During the weeklong program held on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) campus, students attend will stay over night, conduct hands-on sport science projects and prepare multi-media presentations of their results. Be trained as a youth advisor to educate your peers about health resources. Help to write and publish a quarterly newsletter. Visit different community agencies so you can learn first-hand information. Recognizing the urgent need for education, clinical care, research, and health care advocacy for adolescent girls and young women, Children's Hospital of Boston has created an important new initiative-- the creation of a Center for Young Women's Health-- the first of its kind in the nation. The YWCA's Youth Voice Collaborative is seeking Peer Leaders . This is a year-round position beginning July 6, 2005 and ending June 16, 2006. If you are over the age of 14, able to work in a group, interested in creating media projects, running workshops and thinking a lot, then this may be the job for you! The hours are Monday through Friday 4:00 - 6:00 pm during the school year and two hours per day during the summer. Pay is $6.75 per hour for 8 - 10 hours per week. The 12-week program's components include: how to write a business plan, basic graphic design and life skills seminars conducted by women in various areas of the business world.
