Are you interested in helping to shape technology opportunities for Boston students?

TechBoston is recruiting students to serve on the TechBoston Student Advisory Board (SAB) for the 2006-2007 school year. This is a great opportunity for students to have a voice in current TechBoston programs offered in the BPS and to have a real impact on what we do in the future. In addition, it will provide an excellent forum to develop and exercise leadership skills and to build your resume.

What is the commitment?

• TechBoston Student Advisory Board (SAB) members will attend (2) meetings a month
• SAB meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from January – June (a total of 9 meetings)
• SAB meetings are from 3 – 5 pm at Madison Park High School at the TechBoston office
• SAB members will assist with planning and staffing TechBoston events
• SAB members will help get information about TechBoston programs out to your high school
• SAB members will get trained as Internet Safety Mentors
• SAB members will participate in the BPS Internet Safety Campaign in April

What benefits will I get?

• A maximum stipend of $300 for participating in all meetings and activities
• An opportunity to apply for scholarships and summer jobs through the TechApprentice program
• Valuable experience that you can put on your resume!

How do I apply?

Go to the TechBoston website and apply on-line. Applications are DUE December 28, 2006. You will be notified on January 4th if you were selected. The first meeting is Monday, January 8, 2007.

Where are the meetings?

The meetings are at the TechBoston office located at Madison Park High School. Locate the flagpole in front of Madison. Our office entrance is located on the left side of the underpass between two buildings.
